On Saturday 9th June a table
soccer or 'foosball' tournament
was held at the club with
all money raised from the
tournament going to a very
worthy cause: Teen Missions
International Australia.
Whilst not officially a
Fulham United event, the
club contributed by allowing
the organiser of the night,
Hannah Thuraisingham, to
use our facilities and soccer
table at no cost, significantly
increasing the amount of
money raised on the night.
Specifically,
the money raised will go
towards Teen Mission's AIDS
Orphans & Street Children
(AOSC) Rescue Units in subsaharan
Africa. AOSC provides, in
a loving Christian environment,
food, medicine, clothing,
shelter, discipline, music,
Bible training, and practical
training for the future.
Training includes such things
as sewing, cooking, clerical
work, construction, gardening,
farming, and mechanics.
It's goal is that these
children will grow up to
be self-sustaining in their
adult life .
For more information
you can check out the following

The night
involved a World Cup format
tournament involving approximately
20 teams, a tipping competition
and a raffle. The various
prizes were generously donated
by a number of local businesses
in the Western suburbs.
Approximately $750 was raised
on the night which goes
to show what can be achieved
when a few people put in
a little bit of work for
a good cause.
Special
mention must go to Hannah
Thuraisingham, Seth Thuraisingham
and Mei Thuraisingham for
organising the night and
tournament, Paul Berton
(Fulham United) and Paul
Savio for working behind
the bar, and Fulham United
club sponsor John from West
Beach Pizza Bar for providing
a large number of pizzas
at a great price on short
notice!
If you
would like to get involved
or make a donation towards
this cause contact Hannah
Thuraisingham via email:
hannah.thuraisingham@gmail.com
And for
the record in the best of
3 games final, Madagascar
defeated Ghana 2 games to
nil.
